Spring is in the air and that means all the drab winter space between December and March is filled with beautiful color! Birds, nests, blossoms, and green grass sprout up all around us. But what about indoors? How do we add spring color back into our home? Well, I'll tell ya.... One craft at a time!! Join me as I make a simple floral arrangement that will take your decor through summer...
You'll Need:
Terracotta pot
Faux Tulips
floral foam (I used what I had on hand, which is usually used for fresh flowers)
2 mini grapevine wreaths
Reindeer Moss
I chose to use this old terracotta pot because it has so much character. If you don't have an old pot, then grab a new one and dry brush some chalk paint onto it. Next, insert the floral foam then arrange the tulips as you like. I started in the middle, pushing straight down, being extra careful not to bend the stems.
Once they're all in place, cover the foam with reindeer moss. Take your time filling it in and covering it completely between the stems. It can be very messy! I only needed one bag and I purchased it from the Dollar Tree. I also wrapped grapevine around the outside of the pot, lapping over the edge. That's it! It only cost me about $8 and that was mostly for the tulips.
TIP #1: If you have a larger pot, you can use newspaper around the edges of the floral foam as a filler before adding the moss.
TIP #2: Soaking grapevine in water before using it softens it up and makes it easier to shape. I used two miniature grapevine wreaths from Hobby Lobby.
This is such a simple yet eye-catching spring grouping. The cross beads are new from Hobby Lobby but I had everything else on hand. The three eggs in the nest make me think of my three babies. The Hymn book was a gift from my childhood church. This is a sweet reminder of the real reason our family celebrates Easter -- Our Risen King, Jesus!
